The moderator message is a lie - but unfortunately I can't change the message (as far as I can tell). This policy goes back more than 15 years, back when spam didn't come in at the insane level that it does these days. I have let this one through and hopefully let through all of the your future mails to jython-users. Generally you pretty much have to join to post. I'll look some more to see if there is a way to change the moderator message (or maybe switch the policy to auto-reject).
