The default install directory in the Windows installer currently is the Windows directory, in my case 'C:\WIN98': C:\WIN98\jython-2.0 C:\WIN98\jython-2.1a1 That should be the program files directory, in my case 'C:\PROGRAM FILES\', as that's where the program files belong: C:\PROGRAM FILES\jython-2.0 C:\PROGRAM FILES\jython-2.1a1 |

Logged In: YES user_id=61408 Sorry, this is more a flaw than a bug. > That should be the program files directory, in my case 'C:\PROGRAM FILES\' The name of this dir is localized and there is no pure java way to get at that name, so we use user.home (which under the single user OS Win98 is , guess what) OTOH under Win NT/2000 the default is little bit more meaningful (at least for a personal inst) and matches also the unix case. |

Logged In: YES user_id=1093815 As of today the default install location for programs under windows (windows XP) is still the program files directory. As such it would be nice if that is where the installer defaulted to installing jython. I would say that under a windows install this should default to the Program Files directory instead of where it does now. |
